August 2021

Our August meeting was a memorable one as it was the first in Quedgeley Village Hall since September 2020 when our speaker was Barry Wicks with his talk on Wildlife Rescue and the previous get together had been way back in March 2020. Meetings after September had been held via Zoom, along with phone calls and Christmas and Easter gifts in order to keep in touch with all the members, although things hadn’t been totally quiet as several members had enjoyed a cream tea at the Farmers Club in June. Unfortunately our planned car parking fundraiser at Rikenel didn’t go ahead in August however we do have a booking for next year.

It was so nice to be able to meet face to face and this August meeting was a social gathering where we enjoyed wine, non-alcoholic drinks and nibbles along with a quiz on Gloucestershire. We had seven visitors as well as quite a few regular members and it is hoped that next month we will see even more returning as we get back to normal.

Our speaker on 8th September will be David Croom from the RSPB with a talk on garden birds.

Quedgeley WI meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm at Quedgeley Village Hall and always welcomes visitors or new members. Further information can be found on facebook.com/quedgeleywi or our website www.quedgeleywi.co.uk
